Installing Windows 10 from USB

First, user need to download, install advanced beta version of Windows 10 OS. So that the Windows user can enjoy a feel of Cortana a Microsoft’ virtual assistant, new Spartan Web browser, and other awaited desktop user interface options.

Suppose, if you are the beginner or novice user and like to somewhat closer to a real-world of Windows 10 experience, then need to consider a complete installation of OS. Some of the prerequisites to install Windows 10 via USB are:

  1. An old PC or laptop, to use Windows 10 with minimum system components like a 1GB of RAM (or 2GB for the 64-bit version), minimum 16GB of storage drive and 1GHz processor.
  2. A 4GB flash drive, or 8GB for the 64-bit edition.
  3. Rufus, a free tool for generating bootable USB drives.

Steps to install Windows 10 from USB drive:

Step 1: You’ll need to click through the handful of “Get Started” and “Join Now” screens until you land at the download page, then scroll down and choose the appropriate language and version (32- or 64-bit).

Step 2: While that ISO file is downloading, grab the aforementioned Rufus utility. It’s portable, meaning it doesn’t require installation.

Step 3: Next, extract Rufus software, then insert your USB drive, by ensuring that it won’t contain any essential data files because it has to get wiped completely. Rufus has to detect automatically the flash drive and should be in the list of Device field.

Step 4: You have to ensure the check box is marked, that is “Create a bootable disk using.” Then need to select the drive icon at the long right, then require to navigate wherever you stored the Windows 10 ISO file. Then click on it and next click on Start button.

Step 5: This may takes 20-30 minutes, so don’t be panic if an Explorer screen displays for the USB drive just wait until Rufus encounter “DONE.” Message. Later, you have to close the program and drive screen.

Step 6: Finally, you have to plug in the USB flash drive into the system port, then turn on the PC generally it was not configured to boot from USB drive by default, hence it require to go for BIOS settings. Then you have to install Windows as per instructions.
